Area South of High Hedge, also known as Red Canyons, is an area of red rocks and boulders. This a probable destination for parties seeking the 5,000 GP reward for Basillus' death. The quest giver, Kelddath Ormlyr, is an important figure in other D&D literature about the Beregost area.
- Kissiq at co-ordinates 2600, 1500, tells the party of the 'fiendish' talking chicken, which turns out to be the Wizard Thalantyr's apprentice after a polymorph experiment gone wrong. Find Melicamp to start the subquest Restoring Melicamp.
- Roger at 1100, 3400 will inform party about growing political crisis in relations between Amn and Baldur's Gate.
- Bassilus, at 4229, 2797, within a stone circle populated by his undead 'family': his quest yields 5,000 GP; go see the priest Kelddath Ormlyr at his Temple, coordinates 1230, 1060. You can remove all his skeleton army by choosing dialog options 1, 3, 1, 1.
- The hobgoblin Zargal at 2900, 2445, drops a Short Sword +2 and his hobgoblin allies Malkax and Geltik, drop some moderate loot.
