BioWare is the game studio that created the Baldur's Gate series in cooperation with Black Isle. The studio is located in Edmonton/ Canada and was founded in February 1995 by Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk and Augustine Yip.
Beyond that, the studio created the Infinity Engine which would become the foundation for all games in the Baldur's Gate series, the Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment.
After the release of Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, the studio would go on to create Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the old Republic, Dragon Age and Mass Effect, among others. Today BioWare are among the most well known game development studios in the world.
