The Boareskyr Bridge is an area in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

Description[]

In addition to their ongoing siege of Bridgefort, the Crusade also holds Boareskyr Bridge, one of the few paths to Dragonspear Castle, and have rigged it to explode. Gorion's Ward must find a way to enter Bridgefort, most easily done by using a magical circle in the eastern part of the area that can be activated by a wardstone obtained from the Ruined Temple of Bhaal in Forest of Wyrms.

Areas[]

The forest[]

Eastward and north of the starting area is a treed area on the banks of a large river. To lies a hostile group of 8 Hobgoblin Scouts and two Hobgoblin Veterans.[ DifficultyIcon-r ]

Further up is a pack of 2 Goblin Worg Riders, 2 Worgs, 5 Goblin Archers, all lead by a Goblin Raid Leader. [ DifficultyIcon-r ]

Beside them is the magic circle that can be used to enter Bridgefort and behind them is a group of 2 Bombardier Beetles.[ DifficultyIcon-r ] just south of the Goblin Cave.

Crusader Encampment[]

To the west of the initial starting point is the Crusader encampment, guarding both the main entrance to Bridgefort and the bridge that bears the zone's name. The camp can be entered several ways.

  • Rescue Keherrem from the Ruined Temple of Bhaal as part of the The Missing Patrol quest
  • Bring the badge from Keherrem's dead body
  • Demand to see the commander, then agree to be taken prisoner when Delgar Munsch arrives. The cage door can be picked and the guard will walk away, for his own reasons
  • Charm one of the guards blocking the entrance (they seem to be VERY resistant, but not immune), move them while under your control, then walk through the hole
  • Kill everyone in your way

Near the center of the camp is Crusader Lieutentant Kharm, uncle to Keherrem and the training officer for the camp's recruits. If the party possesses the wardstone to Bridgefort, they can "volunteer" to bring down the drawbridge.

To the northwest is a guarded gate to the actual Boareskyr Bridge, which is barred to Gorion's Ward by the magic of the nearby mage, Oloneiros. Despite muttering to himself about trying to find Gorion's Ward, he is slow to realize who he's speaking to, though the reveal is quite an achievement. Also nearby is the Revered Priest of Caelar Hormorn, who is known to hold prayer sessions at night that draw in many of the camps notable figures.

Southwest of the bridge is the former Thayan Wizard Vichand, who is the current focus of Edwin's hate and to south of that is a the makeshift prison area. Here can be found a caged Dorn Il-Khan, who can be released (gaining 6,000 XP, and either immediately recruited to the party, or sent to the Flaming Fist camp. A nearby chest holds his starting gear or whatever he had at the end of Baldur's Gate, if he was recruited in that game. Just south of there are two caged trolls, who demanded to be released.

To the northeast of the main camp is the drawbridge of Bridgefort, which is being assaulted by Crusader forces. Any of the party that enters the area between the barricades and bridge (a pointless action if the drawbridge is still up), will take random damage from the defenders attacks. Just out of bowshot from the walls, the camp commander The Barghest is overseeing the attack.

Bridgefort[]

Main article: Bridgefort

The only entrance to the fort that is available at first is the teleport circle in the forest to the east.

The bridge[]

Once the bridge has been cleared of Crusaders, the party can exit to the northwest toward the Coalition Camp. Along the way is a strange old well that might bear investigating.

Note: Be warned, traveling to the Coalition Camp begins Chapter Ten and all previous areas become inaccessible.

The old well[]

Across the Boareskyr Bridge is an old well. Depending on what is put in, various effects may occur.
