There are six basic helmets found in the game. They all weight 2 lbs, protect against critical hits, are non-magical, and have a unique look. Most of the helmets have this in-game item description.

This class of decorative helmet, made of reinforced leather or metal, covers the face and head. Eye slits and breathing holes come highly recommended.

Original Game[]

Amnish Horned Helm[]

The Amnish horned helm is the standard equipment for soldiers of Amn. The drawn image is also used for Gold Horned Helm, which is worn by Balthazar's Mercenaries.


This class of decorative helmet, made of reinforced leather or metal, covers the face and head. Eye slits and breathing holes come highly recommended. This is the standard helm used by Amnish soldiers.

Horned Helmet[]

This helm has long straight horns at the sides of the helmet, and it shares its drawn image (item artwork) and inventory image (item icon) with Helmet of Glory

Plumed Helmet 1[]

This helmet has a two small horns and a small plume on the top.

Plumed Helmet 2[]

This helmet has two medium-sized horns and a small plume on top of the helm. This helm also protects the nose.

Winged Helm[]

This helm has two decorative metal wings on each side of the helmet, but it doesn't protect the nose.

Helmet[]

This helmet is designed to protect the eyes of the wearer.

Enhanced Edition[]

The enhanced edition overhauled most of the graphics and some description to match the design more closely.

Horned Helmet[]

The horns are curved upwards and can be used as piercing weapons, similar to an attack by a bull.


This class of open-face helmet, made of reinforced leather or metal, covers most of the head save the face and neck. These helmets commonly provide protection for the nose.

Amnian Soldiers Helmet[]

Decorative wings and no neck or face protection.


This class of decorative helmet, made of reinforced leather or metal, covers the face and head. Eye slits and breathing holes come highly recommended. This is the standard helm used by Amnian soldiers.

Plumed Helmet[]

Protects the entire head and has a decorative plume.

Winged and Plumed Helmet[]

Protects the entire head and in addition to a plume it also has wings.

Open-faced Winged and Plumed Helmet[]

This helmet has a small plume and large wings, yet is open faced to improve visibility.

Open-faced Plumed Helmet[]

This helmet has some protection for the nose but the rest of the face is left open. It has a decorative plume.

Open-faced Helmet[]

This helm protects the head, nose and neck.

Open-faced Helmet II[]

A slightly different design, clearly with less of a nose bridge, but more cheek.
