Gram the Sword of Grief is an enchanted two-handed sword +5. It inflicts 1d10+5 points of damage, has a +5 bonus to THAC0 and there is a 10% chance that an enemy hit by this weapon will receive 2d12 points of poison damage. It weighs 9 lbs. and has a speed factor of 5. This item appears in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. The weapon is dropped by Abazigal when he is killed.

The Sword of Grief can be upgraded by Cespenar, which requires the Heart of the Damned and some gold. Unlike most weapons that can be upgraded, this does not increase the level of enchantment and, as a result, it doesn't improve the current properties. It adds 5% magic resistance to the wielder and each target must make a save vs. death at -4 or be level-drained one level each time.

It's a very powerful two-handed sword and probably the best two-handed sword for non-paladin classes, as paladins can wield Carsomyr.

In-game description before updatingEdit

This is one of the many weapons of the great hero Siegfried. The blade is particularly sharp and well balanced, and in a certain light one can see the faint image of a serpent within the hilt.

In-game description after upgradingEdit

Siegfried's fearsome blade is even more powerful with the Heart of the Damned set into its pommel.
