This article is a Hexxat is a vampire thief and the fourth extra companion in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. She is also the only undead companion available. She can be found in the Copper Coronet in the Athkatla Slums upon first entering it. If she is not recruited before Chapter 4, she will no longer be at the tavern, and you will have missed your chance to talk with her.
She is equipped with an amulet than cannot be removed. Being a vampire she regenerates and has some other special abilities. Among them: Blood Drain, Children of the Night and Domination.
After joining she will ask Gorion's Ward to keep Dragomir's Respite, a Bag of Holding containing her coffin. When "killed" she takes gaseous form, goes to her coffin and regenerates in a few hours.
Sun damages her. However, the Cloak of Dragomir allows her to travel under the sun, with penalties to her abilities.
Special abilities
Blood Drain
The ability will drain the target of 1-4 Constitution and knock him unconscious for 5 rounds. Saving throw: Save vs. Death.
Children of the Night
With this ability the Hexxat summons 1d4 creatures, depending on her level:
- 1-10: rats
- 11-20: wolves
- 21-30: shadows
Domination
This ability is similar to wizard spell Domination and priest spell Mental Domination, but casting time is 1, and the target has no option for release, even if made to do something against their moral.
The Saving Throw to negate the effect has a -2 penalty. The effect can be reversed only by Dispel Magic.
Relations
She will romance a female protagonist.
Some good companions will complain about Hexxat and will not remain in the party with her.
