Hobgoblins are creatures who can be found almost everywhere across the Sword Coast, Amn, Tethyr and indeed, most of Faerûn. They will fight in melee combat, but they are not a significant threat to low-level parties as long as they come in small numbers or party members have decent amounts of HP. When slain, Hobgoblins drop a helmet, a Bastard Sword, Leather Armor or Studded Leather Armor, and some random treasure.
