Pearls are valuable gems in the game which may be found. This item appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Pearls consist of layers of aragonite agonizingly formed around a bit of grit or other irritant inside oysters and other mollusks. The resulting pearl has a rich, deep luster. Most of the pearls in the realms are white, however there are varieties that are much more rare such as rainbow and black.

Where to acquireEdit

Baldur's GateEdit

  • Along the left edge of the westernmost patch of plowed earth in Nashkel, there is a tiny patch of dark dirt or grass that can be looted when the cursor is placed over it.  This small cache is located just south (roughly 2.5') of a tiny pine tree along the edge of the field, and consistently contains both a pearl and a set of ankheg plate mail.  Holding the 'Tab' key will highlight it
  • All sirines carry a single pearl.  The easiest places to acquire them are the Song of the Morning Temple (where they must be pickpocketed) and the Lighthouse, where non-hostile sirines can spawn while resting
