Piato is a monk of Candlekeep and former tutor of Gorion's Ward. He is found on the fifth floor of the Library.
When the player speaks with him during the events of Chapter Six, he will point the protagonist in the direction of a letter written by Gorion. In it, Gorion informs the player about some of the character's history; about Bhaal, the protagonist's mother, Gorion's relationship towards the protagonist's mother, and how the player character is a Bhaalspawn.
