Restore Kangaxx's Body is a side quest in Shadows of Amn. It can be started in chapter 2, but it's recommended to not start this quest until the party has gained some levels and more powerful equipment, because of the difficult battles that lie ahead.
Walkthrough[]
- Steps for starting the quest: (the order is unimportant)
- Enter Kangaxx's House which is located between the Sea's Bounty Tavern and Mae'Var's Guildhall in the Docks District.
- Descend the stairs to the cellar and click on the sarcophagus. A Golden Skull will ask you to retrieve its other body parts so that it may be freed from its eternal imprisonment. You need to acquire the arms and legs and torso.
- Go to the Temple District and descend into the sewers:
- Go to The Old Tunnels in the northwest corner and search for the Lair of the Cult Outcasts. Click on the sarcophagus in this location. Once you have defeated the Shade Lich who guards the body part, click on the sarcophagus once again to retrieve the Golden Arm and Leg.
Note: You will need to progress up to a certain stage in the side-quest Investigate and Destroy the Cult of the Eyeless in order to access the area. The outcast Gaal gives you a key that allows you to access the sarcophagus location. If you killed Gaal early before getting the key, you are permanently locked out of this area and the Kangaxx quest is impossible to complete.
- Go to the Bridge District:
- You can find the Golden Torso in the House of the Elemental Lich which is located south of Delosar's Inn. Again this body part is guarded by another powerful lich.
- Return to Kangaxx's house in the Docks District with the body parts and click on the sarcophagus again. This will free the lich in its semi-human lich form. As a reward, he will try to kill you for making the effort. First you must beat the lich in his semi-human lich form. After doing enough damage, he will take a demi-lich form as a floating skull. Defeat it and you will receive the Ring of Gaxx, which is a very powerful ring to possess.
Exploit: you can gain a second Ring of Gaxx if you manage to pickpocket Kangaxx in his semi-human lich form just before the fight. This has been disabled in the Enhanced Edition.
