Ring of Clumsiness, also known as the Jester's Folly is a cursed ring with only negative magical effects on the user. It can only be removed by a remove curse spell from a companion or a priest in one of the temples found on the Sword Coast. It reduces stealth and Dexterity by 50%. Since dexterity also involves hitting chances with missile attacks, armor class and thieving skills, it can lead to serious penalties. The ring makes spells fail 75% of the time. This item appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
In Baldur's Gate it can be found when the party kills the mages on the first floor of the Sorcerous Sundries. It is worn by Niemain.
In Baldur's Gate II it is among the loot in the pool available after killing the lich Deirex in Ust Natha.

Gregoria the Foole, a jester by trade, would use his incomparable sleight of hand to switch this ring with that of a patsy taken from the audience. The rest of his performance would involve mocking of the newly clumsy individual, much to the delight of their comrades. The ring was removed (by a method known only to the wily Jester) only once the stooge had promised no reprisals for the treatment he had received, though Gregoria frequently still had to make a hasty retreat.
