The Ring of Fire Resistance, also known as Batalista's Passport, is a ring which offers 40% protection against all kinds of fire damage from weapons, spell, arrows, potions and traps. This item appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
In Baldur's Gate, this ring can be found somewhere in the second part of the Underground Passages of Candlekeep in chapter 6. This is the only item that offers fire protection and can be worn by any character, unlike Mage Robe of Fire Resistance, Moonblade or the Gift of Peace. A second ring may be found in Area East of Nashkel Mines.
In Baldur's Gate II, it is dropped by the ruhk transmuter on the first level of the Domain of the Dragon in the Windspear Hills. It can be used as a component to upgrade the Club of Detonation by Cespenar.
|“||The grand mage Batalista intended this item to aid in his travels in the Plane of Fire, and it is said he repeatedly summoned a salamander from that realm to aid in the construction. Salamanders not being known for their patience, it is likely he should not have pestered his "instructor" quite so much. The finger bearing the finished ring was indeed untouched by the inferno that claimed his tower. Had that finger still been attached, Batalista himself might have fared better.||”|
Can be used in Edit
- Cespenar can use the ring to create Club of Detonation +5 (Club of Detonation+3, Ring of Fire Resistance, and 5,000 gold are needed)
