Short Sword +1 is a magical enchanted weapon and like the Long sword +1, it's a common magical weapons. When this compared with a normal short sword, this weapon deals +1 more damage, has +1 thaco and faster, because of the lower speed factor. They both have the same weight. Only in Baldur's Gate this weapon is a small sword weapon. Otherwise, it's in the short sword proficiency. This item appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

In Baldur's Gate, it can be bought from the Thunderhammer Smithy, one can be found in Mulahey's chest. It's also dropped by enemies.

In Baldur's Gate II it is sold by many merchants throughout the game, including Ribald Barterman, Arledrian and Elence Fielding in SOA and from the Tankard Tree and Carras in TOB.

The short sword is the first type of sword to come into existence. In the simplest of terms, a short sword can be considered a dagger with  a blade so long it can no longer be called a dagger. The term short sword does not exist in sword classifications. However, it has come to be used to describe a double-edged blade about two feet in length. The sword tip is usually pointed, ideal for thrusting.
