Studded Leather Armor +1 offers a basic armor class of 6 and the normal armor class bonuses against specific attacks. The weight of this armor has been reduced with 10 lbs to 15 lbs when compared to normal studded leather armor. This item appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

In Baldur's Gate it is dropped by Telka in the Area East of Carnival and in Baldur's Gate II it is sold by Gorch in Mae'Var's Guildhall, the Trademeet Smithy, the Brynnlaw Store and at the Tankard Tree in Saradush.

Studded leather armor has little in common with normal leather armor. While leather armor is a hardened shell, studded leather armor is soft and supple with hundreds of metal rivets affixed. The rivets are so close together that they form a flexible coasting of hard metal that turns aside slashing and cutting attacks. The soft leather backing is little more than a means of securing the rivets in place.
