The Sword of Balduran is a bastard sword which is very effective against Werewolf creatures because it's made of gold. Because gold is a soft, heavy metal, it's not very effective when fighting other creatures. It has a speed factor of 7, a weight of 12 lbs. and has a +4 bonus vs. lycanthropes. This item appears in Baldur's Gate and in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.
There is another sword which once belonged to Balduran, though it is a completely different weapon, which appears in Baldur's Gate II. For more information on that weapon, see Sword of Balduran (long sword).
