Tempus, also known as the Lord of Battle and Foehammer, is a chaotic neutral greater deity of war.

He is random in his favors and may manifest before a battle, appearing on one side or the other. He has two horses, a white mare named Veiros and a black stallion named Deiros. If he rides the former, success is assured. If he rides the latter however, the army will lose the battle. Most often he will ride both at the same time, with one foot on each, indicating the chaotic nature of battle. He is served by the Red Knight.

In-GameEdit

In Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear he may appear in the form of a disembodied voice in the Dragonspear Courtyard during the Foehammer's Blessing quest. He speaks in capital letters.

ASK AND YOU SHALL BE TESTED. CLAIM VICTORY AND TEMPUS WILL DELIVER HIS AID.

TemplesEdit

Unlike most other temples in the games, the temples of Tempus do not offer any services.

  • The north-western side of the Dragonspear Castle Courtyard features the destroyed remains of an old shrine to Tempus (it is only rubble and doesn't stand out).

TriviaEdit

  • The Foehammer's Blessing quest is mentioned in the Dragon+ magazine article Ten Must Play Quests in Siege of Dragonspear[1]
  • The items from the same quest and some tapestry found in the Black Pits II use the 3rd edition version of Talos' holy symbol instead of the 2nd edition one.
