Two-handed Sword, Cursed Berserking +3 is a cursed two-handed sword which bestows the wielder the status effect of berserk. It has a +3 bonus to THAC0 and damage, but it has the same weight and speed factor of normal two-handed sword. It is a powerful weapon, but the character wielder of the sword can't use any other weapons until the Remove Curse spell is used upon him/her. The other cursed weapon of berserking is Kiel's Morningstar. It appears in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II.
In Baldur's Gate you can either kill Brage for this weapon (The Tale of Captain Brage) or manage to answer his riddle correctly and take him to the priest of Helm in Nashkel (Brage's Life Spared), where he gives this weapon as a reward of the quest.
In Baldur's Gate II, this weapon is in the possession of one the guests you can find in the Inn of Seven Dales in Waukeen's Promenade.
|“||This is a cursed sword which performs perfectly under every test, save the heat of the battle. Upon entering combat, the wielder will immediatly go berserk, killing everything within reach either calming down or falling unconcious. A very powerful sword, but one must decide whether or not it is worth the risk. Even once the battle-fury has ended, this sword can only be removed via exorcism using a remove curse spell.||”|
