Wands of Frost are charged with magical cold energy that will instantly drain the heat from any creature with potentially debilitating effects. Be careful using this when dealing a killing blow, as this wand has been known to completely disintegrate the body, destroying any possible loot.

It can be bought from Sorcerous Sundries in Baldur's Gate or be found across the Sword Coast. In Baldur's Gate II it is sold by Arledrian and Carras and can be looted from Deirex's Tower in Ust Natha.

You may find one in the upper-left corner of the Nashkel Mines, in a tree. (AR5400, x=165 y=180)

Note: The wand behaves differently in BG and BGII for both Effect and Area.

Baldur's Gate description Edit

White crystalline motes spray forth from the wand in a column towards the victim striking square in the chest with numbing force. The temperature inside the column is deadly, and damage is 8D6(treated all 1s rolled as 2s) with a save vs. wands for half.

Baldur's Gate II description Edit

A wand of frost acts in a similar fashion to the Cone of Cold spell. Crystallized particles of snow and ice fan out from the wand's tip, defining an area wherein the temperature drops to -100 degrees F. Like all wands, the wand of frost can only be used a limited number of times before it melts into a harmless pool of water.
